Forests & Clean Water: DId You Know They Could Disappear?
Bedford 2020 is host a Foresting a Management program with two expert speakers who will explain why our local forest is imperiled and strategies that we can employ to help protect it.
Troy Weldy, Director of Ecological Management for the Nature Conservancy of Eastern New York will speak on the impacts deer browse and invasive species are having on forest regeneration in New York.
Rod Christie, Executive Director of Mianus River Gorge Preserve, will speak on what strategies we can learn from successes and failures in dealing with invasive species and deer at the Gorge. He will suggest strategies that landowners can employ that effect a positive impact despite the overwhelming scope of the problem.
