Parenting Workshop: Aggression, Competition, and Rivalry: The Meaning of Children’s Friendships

Friendships are important at any age, but for the school-aged
child, they take on a particular significance. It can be difficult to help your
child navigate the complexities of middle childhood, especially the social
dynamics that so affect a child’s sense of self, confidence and well-being.

This informative workshop, lead by psychoanalyst/psychotherapist
and parenting consultant, Karen Perlman Ph.D., focuses on the developmental tasks
of children aged 7-12. In addition to providing a framework for understanding the
emotional challenges children face at this age, the workshop offers parents
suggestions for how to strengthen children’s resilience out in the world and
offer emotional support at home. RSVP: brooke_wachtel@meadschool.org
