Bedford Pet of the Week: You'll Be Whistlin' "Dixie" When You Take Her Home!

Meet Dixie, our furry friend of the week. Each Friday we introduce you to a shelter pet who is in need of a forever home.

Dixie is a 9-year-old Pointer/Terrier Mix rescued during Hurricane Katrina and transported to the SPCA. She lived with a family for 6 years until her owners could no longer take care of her.

Dixie an easy-going companion who loves attention. She likes to be outside and playing fetch, going for walks and going running. After a long day of play she loves to give and receive love and especially enjoys belly rubs.

She would do best as the only dog in a home without kids.
