Bald Eagle Survey at the New Croton Dam and Visit to Black Rock Park, Croton-on-Hudson With Bedford Audubon Naturalist Tait Johansson and Westmoreland Sanctuary Naturalist Adam Zorn, and BAS Volunteers. Cosponsored by Westmoreland Sanctuary

Join the two naturalists and our eagle survey volunteers to learn more about Bald Eagles and their increasing presence in our area. This is the fifth season Bedford Audubon is conducting this survey with support from Audubon New York and the DEC. We should see numerous Bald Eagles as they return from their day of hunting on the Hudson River to their roosts along the Reservoir. We'll also demonstrate how the data for the survey is collected and used in larger scientific eagle studies. If conditions are right, we will start the trip at nearby Black Rock Park, where an impressive number of duck species often congregates in winter. Previous years' eagle reports are posted on our website. Level of difficulty: Easy.
Please register with Joan E. Becker. Carpool from Bylane Farm, 35 Todd Road, Katonah at 2:30 p.m.

Note: the public is welcome to join the eagle monitors at any time during the season to learn more about Bald Eagles, or just enjoy the sight of these majestic birds. Please contact Tait Johansson at tjohansson@bedfordaudubon.org or by phone at (914) 232-1999 for dates, times, and locations.
