Two Fox Lane High School musicians have been selected from thousands of students throughout New York State to participate in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Ensembles.

Lindsay Avellino, a 12th grade vocalist, will perform as a member of the All-State Women’s Choir.  Lindsey is an alto in the school’s Chamber Choir and a co-director of the girl’s a cappella group, Foxappella.  Brian Arkin is a 12th grader singing with the All-State Choir. Brian sings tenor in the school’s Chamber Choir and is a co-director of the boy’s a cappella group, The Commoners.

Selection for participation was based upon the student’s solo performance rating in the NYSSMA Solo Festivals held this past spring, in which over 10,000 students vied for spots in the All-State Ensembles.  Lindsay and Brian participate in the Fox Lane High School choral program under the direction of Edward Reisert.  The state conference will be held December 5-8 at the Rochester Convention Center with a final performance in Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theater.
