Katonah Holiday Celebrations with Menorah, Christmas Tree Lightings

Downtown Katonah was busy Sunday night with the community's menorah and Christmas tree lightings.

The ceremonies, held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, were coupled with refreshments, local music and happy attendees.

The lightings were part of several events promoted by the Katonah Chamber of Commerce as "Katonah for the Holidays."

The menorah lighting included singing from a cantor. It was followed by songs from three John Jay High School a Capella groups: the all-male Rolling Tones, the all-female Noteables and the co-ed Treble Makers. There were two singers who are with the Little Village Playhouse: Sophia DeCubellis and Emma Adler. John Jay graduate Kristin Kelleher sang, with her father, Joe, playing guitar.

The Katonah lighting is the first of three announced for the area. Bedford Village's is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at the Village Green, while the Bedford Hills ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Depot Plaza.
