In my experience, Dr. Lovece is very text book and term oriented, and lacks empathy or a spiritual depth. It seemed she has shut this down in herself. I found her extremely out of touch and as such, sadly incompetent. She tripped herself up with obsessive journal reference, and lacked insight. My impression is that her own deep personal issues have caused her to work too clinically, and less therapeutically. She shared that she has come to the suburbs to work w suburban women after a long, trying career in forensic psychology with male prisoners, evaluating and treating violent criminals who have committed the most heinous of acts. I fear this is not the appropriate background for a career switch to "womens' issues". She surprised me by having very little familiarity and no personal experience w the most common womens' issues: Motherhood, chaotic family life and the stressors related to being a caregiver. She did seek to empower w praise and suggesting meditation, but it was far too methodical (xeroxed) and text book based. I wish her all the best in her own personal journey.
