Recycling Through Mosaic Art

     One of the most gratifying reasons to make mosaic art is the chance to recycle items that would be earmarked for the garbage or the pile in someone's garage. 

My license plate mosaic art is an example of this recycling effort. I have been an owner of vanity plates for many years and it has always been a challenge for me to come up with the perfect plate that has an interesting double meaning. When the time came to turn in my old Pathfinder, I found out that I did not have to turn in my plates, which said "ANEWPATH." I decided to use the plate as inspiration for a wall mirror depicting a journey to happiness.

     Another plate I have used in my artwork is "RUTRUE2U." It was the inspiration for a mirror I named "Daily Reflection," whereby looking at that wall plaque  I  make a conscious effort to stay true to myself in thoughts and acts.

It gives me great happiness to turn ordinary items into beautiful pieces of thought- provoking artwork. So please think twice before throwing out something that can be transformed into artwork.
