John Jay Softball Rallies for Three Runs in the 7th for Win Against Mahopac

John Jay Varsity Softball scores in the bottom of the seventh to achieve come from behind victory over Mahopac. The team is 8-5 on the season.

Coach Angelo Formisano switched from pitcher Theresa Swertfager to Devon Novick in the 2nd inning with the team trailing 1-0.  John Jay was able to push two runs across the plate while Novick kept the Mahopac bats quiet. 

The infield played solid defense behind the gloves of third baseman Danielle Autieri, shortstop Theresa Swertfager, second baseman Kim Dolhon and first baseman Ashley Berton. 

As a unit they allowed no balls thru the infield as Novick did not allow another run up to the 7th inning.  In the 7th, Mahopac took the lead 4-2 after scoring 3 runs.  In the bottom of the 7th John Jay was patient at bat scoring 2 runs to tie the game, with the eventual game winning hit from Kayla Fisher for the 5-4 victory.
