The Katonah Museum of Art Welcomes Westchester Community College Students in ELL "Empowerment" Program on December 4th

CALTA21 Program Improves Literacy and Critical Thinking Skills for ELL Students

Westchester Community College (WCC) students will visit the Katonah Museum of Art (KMA) on Wednesday, December 4 at 9:00-11:00am and again at 7:00-9:00pm as part of the Katonah Museum of Art’s participation in the CALTA21 program, a model initiative funded through a National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). This partnership program, between the Westchester Community College and the Katonah Museum of Art, aims to empower adult English language learners (ELL) and to increase the familiarity/comfort of ELL students with institutions of higher learning and cultural institutions while strengthening literacy and critical thinking skills.
