Bedford Town Board Candidate Black Receives Endorsement

(Bedford, NY – October 1, 2013) – Bedford Democratic town board candidate Meredith Black announced today that she has received endorsement from Eleanor’s Legacy, in support of her 2013 campaign, “Moving Bedford Forward”.

“We received many applications from candidates around the state this year,” wrote Brette McSweeney, Executive Director and Lynne Mahoney, Chair, Campaign Committee in their announcement. “We are excited by the number of qualified, progressive women who made the decision to run for office and be leaders in their communities.”

Eleanor's Legacy is building a new generation of pro-choice Democratic women candidates, informed voters and political activists throughout New York State.  Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt and her belief that, “Democracy is not about words, but action,” the organization raises funds to elect women to state and local offices, provide political training and leadership development.  It seeks to establish a statewide network of women community leaders, elected officials and grassroots activists.

“I am greatly honored to have received the support of Eleanor’s Legacy", said Meredith Black, town board candidate, who adds, “I look forward to continuing this successful campaign, and the opportunity to be an active member within Bedford’s community.”

The Bedford Democratic Committee congratulates Meredith Black on being recognized with this honor.
