The Bedford Dog Owner's group is conducting a fundraiser throughout October to replenish monies used for two recent projects at the Bedford Canine Commons. Earlier this summer, much-needed repairs were made to all the fenced enclosures. Last week, five new benches were installed at the park, something park users had indicated would enhance the already popular facility at Beaver Dam Park.
A custom designed BDOG baseball cap, made in the USA, will be offered with every donation of $20 or more. Wear it with pride and at the same time inform others about BDOG’s important work! John Plunkett, a graphic designer and dog park regular, created the whimsical BDOG logo. BDOG Board members and volunteers will be collecting donations at the dog park and other locations around town.
Future projects include reseeding sections of the lawns, more shade trees and adding a shade structure. “We sought input from park users over the course of several months and our Board put a plan in place to meet those needs, said Len Martello, BDOG's President.” BDOG donated over $4,500.00 to complete the fence repairs and purchase the benches. The Town of Bedford pitched in to assemble and install the benches.
