Cook Endorsement No Surprise, Dems Embrace Values

This entry is in response to Jennifer Cook's letter to Patch endorsing the Bedford Republican slate led by Don Scott.
It appears that Bedford Republicans have run away from their party's core values: suddenly "party" doesn't matter to them. It must be noted that the Republican candidate for Supervisor, Don Scott, served as a district director to former Tea Party Congresswoman Nan Hayworth. You won't find that anywhere in his campaign literature, though.
The Bedford Democrats took a "no lawn signs pledge", a step at protecting the environment and natural beauty of our town. The Republicans, including Bedford 2020 member Mary Beth Kass, made a different choice regarding the environment, as you can see all over our roads and highways.
As the wife of Republican Councilman Peter Chryssos, it comes as no surprise that Ms. Cook would again support the Republican ticket.
The Bedford Democratic slate proudly embraces our party's values: Chris Burdick for Supervisor, Julie Hallowell Vulpescu and Meredith Black for Town Board, Simone Shapiro for Town Clerk and Judy Aydelott for Town Justice.
Party values DO matter, from the local level up to the national level.
