Charles Mabli, Former Bedford Resident, Dies at 71

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Magdalene.

Charles E. Mabli, a longtime resident of Bedford as well as Sleepy Hollow, died December 7, 2012. He was 71.

Mr. Mabli was born on January 25, 1941 to Victor and Erma Rossi Mabli in New York City. He worked as a CFO for Swiss-RE Insurance Company for many years. He was also a CPA who graduated from Iona College. He also previously served in the U.S. National Guard.

He is survived by his wife Maureen of Bedford. He is also survived by his children Charles V and Carly of Bedford,  Jennifer Puorro of Los Angeles, CA and Jocelyn Glas of Albequerque, NM. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Nickolas Whitmore and Lucas & Ava Puorro. He is also survived  by his brother Robert of Los Angeles, CA.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday at the Church of the Magdalene. Interment follows at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
