Democratic Candidates for Bedford Town Offices Will Not Post Lawn Signs

Open letter to all Bedford town residents:

The Democratic candidates for Bedford town offices will not post lawn signs this election season.

We believe that lawn signs clutter and blight our bucolic Bedford landscape. They contribute to our country’s waste problem, and in many instances pose safety hazards by distracting drivers and obstructing their line of sight.

Our decision may be contrary to conventional political wisdom which holds that lawn signs are essential to boost candidate visibility and name recognition. We want you to know us by more than just our names. We'd prefer meeting you face-to-face, chatting with you at community events, and personally responding to your questions and comments.

We hope that our decision makes this election season a little less annoying, and is more in keeping with what makes Bedford the wonderful place it is.
