Letter: Keep Janet Donohue Town Clerk

Elena Dunn says "it just makes sense" to vote for Janet Donohue.

Dear Editor:

Driving around town this past weekend, I was thrilled to see so many lawn signs supporting Janet Donohue as Town Clerk. This just makes sense in so many ways.

Janet Donohue was personally appointed as Deputy Clerk over four years ago by Kathy Cory, our long time Town Clerk. With Kathy’s guidance, Janet learned first hand all the various details of how the Town Clerk office works. Since Kathy Cory resigned, Janet has seamlessly and successfully assumed the powers and duties of Town Clerk.

It is easy to see that Janet loves her job. She has dedicated much of her own time to participate in many town events and she truly enjoys meeting town residents. On a personal note, when I needed to coordinate activities for the Lewisboro Cub Scout Pack,

I turned to Janet. With her knowledgeable assistance, many cub scouts have enjoyed interesting tours of the Town House and have created a Veterans’ Day ceremony, which includes placing a field of American flags on the front lawn.

Janet is a detailed, oriented, personable, and compassionate individual. These qualities make her well suited for the job. On November 6, one decision should be quite clear – keep Janet Donohue as Town Clerk. It just makes sense.

Sincerely,

Elena Dunn
