Letter: Scott Will Continue Roberts' Legacy

(Below is a letter from a former colleague of Don Scott's)

To the Editor;

As town elections approach, registered voters will have the opportunity to choose a candidate for Town Supervisor. I would like to add my voice to the chorus singing the praises of Don Scott.

I had the opportunity to serve with Don Scott on the Katonah-Lewisboro district School Board. Don quickly rose to the top as School Board President. During that time , I became Vice President and worked closely with Don during some contentious times having to balance an increasing student enrollment with difficult budget and labor negotiations. Don presided over three annual school budgets averaging $100 million and over 700 employees.

Don was always been able to find consensus and compromise within competing interests for example, keeping the goal of educating our students and limiting the tax burden for our property owners. This was no easy task. Don can manage and manage well.

These are the times that strain our budgets while demanding improvements to our infrastructure. I know Don will not let us down. He will bring the same energy, spirit of cooperation and strong ethics  required to guide Bedford through these difficult economic times.

As voters head to the polls, I urge you to support Don Scott for Town Supervisor. He has the experience required for the job and the conscientious attitude we need to continue the legacy of Lee Roberts.
