New Years Eve Comedy/Dinner Fundraiser for Special Olympics at Emmett's Castle. Dec. 31. 5:30 p.m. Start the new year by giving back to a good cause. Attend the New Years Eve Comedy-Dinner Fundraiser for Special Olympics at Emmett's Castle hosted by New York City comic/emcee Doug Adler. Also performing is Regina DeCicco, who was named Lower Hud’s Funniest Person in 2011. If DeCicco's name sounds familiar, it's because her father is one of the partners in DeCicco's grocery chain. Reserve as soon as possible for one of two seatings at 5:30 and 9 p.m and enjoy a five-course dinner. Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
