It's day 18 of the "Occupy Wall Street" protest.
The numbers of protestors has grown from a handful of college students to approximately 2,000 people camped out a variety of reasons.
Chief among them are economic concerns, according to the Huffington Post which reports that "protesters speak often of the national wealth gap—the vast differences in income that separate the richest 1 percent of Americans from everybody else."
What do you think about the protest?
Take the poll and tell us more in comments.
Meredith Lesly 7:01pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011Apparently you have trouble reading. I said most teachers work 50 hours a week, with many working 60–70. Nice way to distort things to prop up your fallacious point.
As the old saying goes, it is better to remain silent and have people wonder if you are an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
The Fed is a private institution, a banking cartel. Take a peek at the Constitution. Here's a little something from someone who knew a little bit about it. "If the American people ever allow private banks to control their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their prosperity until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." - Thomas Jefferson
Also I agree, Campaign reform, that means the people down in wall street should not be BIG donates to Obama or anyone one else running. That means lobbyists who have high jacked our Politicians should not donate to campaigns either. I think It was John Mc Cain who tried this and was shot down and Obama took plenty of money during that time. To raise a billion, that money is not coming from those Marches! It is coming from BIG Millionaires. So Yes REFORM , Keep Your OWN voice. The moment you let Sharpton in there, forget it. The peoples voices get lost and it becomes a political moment. That is why I thought when I heard move on.org and Huff Post getting involved we thought it was only a liberal agenda. but if it is for all people as these gentlemen said on Fox, His name is John, Then I like his message. He said their are people down there with their own agenda. But we invite ALL people Tea party -all people. We do not want someone to be our voice like a politicians GOOD! I hope they keep it about the People-issues- and for all!
We need a change in the attitude of the public in general. My mother always said if you don't have the money in hand, then you can't buy it. That philosophy worked for her. There are some in Washington that are heeding the message. Unfortunately they are in the minority, especially in the Senate and the white house.
Teacher don't work 40hrs a week they are their 40hrs a week. Many of those hours they are assigned other non teahing duties or are on release time. Also it is only for 9 months plus every holiday and expended Christmans, Easter, Spring Break Holiday. So don't cry for them, at least to me!!!
