Police: Eastchester Children Left Home Alone
An Eastchester woman apparently left her 4- and 10-year-old daughters at home alone because the two girls were fighting, according to LoHud.com. The girls went to a neighbor's house and the neighbor tried to contact the mother but was unable to get in touch. The father came home around 6:40 p.m. The mother faces child endangerment charges and was ordered by a judge to have an adult present when she is home alone with the girls.

Kerry Kennedy is seeking to dismiss driving while impaired charges on the grounds that she did not intentionally take sleeping pills that might have been related to her alleged July car accident. Kennedy maintains that she accidentally took sleeping pills rather than her thyroid medication.

Orangetown police arrested a New Jersey man who was spotted by numerous drivers slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the busy Route 303 intersection. The man appeared intoxicated and, according to police, failed field sobriety tests.

Police: Forgery Suspect Caught after Hitting Trooper and Patrol Car
A Long Island man is accused of hitting a trooper with a car and ramming into a patrol car while attempting to avoid a fraud arrest at a Best Buy in Cortlandt Town Center. Best Buy reported to possible fraud and pointed out the accused to police. He then attempted to flee on foot, jumped into his vehicle and hit the trooper and patrol car, according to police. The man was found with five forged out-of-state drivers licenses and several thousand dollars in stolen Apple products from Best Buy stores throughout the Tri-State area, according to police.
Phony Repair Man Tries to Steal Copper Cable from Roof of Port Chester Building
Port Chester Police said a man posing as an AT&T worker wearing a hard hat, carrying tools, and a shoulder bag tried to steal copper cable from the roof of a building. The theft was thwarted when a building worker investigated a resident's complaint that a person was on the roof. The building worker asked the so-called utility worker how he gained access to the roof, which was always locked, and said the accused then became nervous. The building worker then discovered a pile of metal cable that had been cut on the roof.
