Assemblyman Steve Katz Ticketed for Marijuana Possession and Speeding
New York State Assemblyman Steve Katz (R-Mohegan Lake) was ticketed for being in possession of marijuana and speeding, according to State Police. An officer smelled marijuana after stopping the assemblyman for traveling at 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Katz was allegedly in possession of a small bag of marijuana.
Police: 10 Tires Slashed in Apt. Complex's Parking Lot
Mount Kisco police responded to reports of tires being slashed at the Bedford Plaza apartment complex. All of the tires belonged to vehicles parked in the same parking lot, with one Jeep reportedly having even a slashed spare tire.
Nanuet 19-Year-Old Charged with Assault, DWI after Hit-and-Run Crash
A Nanuet man attempted to flee the scene of a hit-and-run by hopping on a southbound NJ Transit train on Saturday morning, said police. The 19-year-old allegedly drove away after hitting a Pearl River man who, as a result, required medical treatment at a hospital. Clarkstown police apprehended the man in New Jersey and charged him with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, driving while intoxicated, third-degree assault, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment, all misdemeanors.

Three New York City residents are facing drug charges after State Police discovered drugs and baked goods laced with marijuana in their car. The discovery was made after police responded to a one-car accident on I-84.

Briarcliff Manor's Prescription Plus owner was arrested for grand larceny in the second degree and faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted for filing illegal Medicaid Bills. The owner, whose business in located in New City, allegedly filed more than $500,000 in Medicaid Bills and the arrest stems from a 2008 investigation.
