Visions for Vacancies: Woods Bridge Road Building

Put aside all the regulations, restrictions and rules—we're asking you what type of establishment would make the most sense in this space.

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning; a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

We present a vacant space or property and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts many people to sleep. What would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Earlier this month, many local folks joined the conversation for the . Now, we're hoping you'll weigh in on the vacant building at 18 Woods Bridge Road in Katonah. What sort of establishment would work best there? A community organization or a nonprofit? Some sort of store? A professional office?

Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below. Thank you for using Patch!

Drive thru starbucks...right off the highway, and between the commuter lot and train station: perfect!

I'm a big fan of Starbucks myself, but it would probably generate too much traffic (and litter) not to mention triple my coffee consumption ;-) A Citibank, however, would save me the occasional trip to Mt. Kisco when I needed something beyond the ATM.

As a neighbor, I'd love to see a bistro type restaurant.

if facing the highway, i think that would be rt. 35, i'm in favor of a very small retail/service strip. it's a long drive to anything on rt. 35. i'd also like to see some rental apts. above the stores, mush like downtown katonah used to be before they were all converted into law offices! maybe some up and down apts. in the back of the stores too reminiscent of old ny.

A deli! Grab the paper, a coffee and a sandwich and catch the train! Parking can be tough in town and there's just 1 deli. Maybe have a few bistro tables inside would be nice.

I was wondering if - and when - this building would be occupied, as I would love to get office space.

Cafe with boardgames (that can be checked out) and books - that has a stage space for live music and a movie screen - oh and with a fireplace (I can dream, can't I?!)
