An Armonk woman who was arrested in Greenwich, CT after police say she was found sleeping inside a parked car early Sunday, faces a variety of charges. Police said they range from drug possession to second-degree larceny because the car she reportedly was in, had been reported stolen.
Louise K. Werner, 43, was found asleep inside the car parked on Dewart Road, near North Street about 6 a.m. Aug. 18, according to a Greenwich Police report.
Werner woke up when the officer knocked on the car window and gave the officer an expired New York State learner's permit, according to the report. A check revealed that the license plates on the car had been cancelled and that the Mazda sedan had been reported stolen by Enterprise Rental Car in Maynard, MA, according to the report.
Police found a variety of sedatives in the car that were prescribed to three different people, according to the report. A plastic bag with a white residue tested positive for cocaine, according to the report.
Werner was charged with second-degree larceny, misuse of plates, operating without a license, illegal possession and three counts of illegal possession of narcotics. She also was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court on Feb. 1, 2013 on a charge that wasn't specified in the arrest report.
Werner was held on a total of $22,000 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 26 in state Superior Court in Stamford, CT.
