Update Scheduled for 2 p.m. on Bedford Hills Home Targeted in Armed Robbery and Where Fire Occurred Monday Morning

The incidents have not been linked by authorities.

Bedford police have scheduled a press conference at 2 p.m. to update the public and press on these two incidents.

An early morning barn fire broke out at a Bedford Hills property that was also targeted Saturday night in an armed robbery, according to authorities.

firefighters responded to 135 Broad Brook Road at about 4:41 a.m. Monday morning and worked to control and put out the barn blaze in about an hour.

Details on Saturday night's burglary were not yet available from police Monday morning. Police detectives continued their investigation on Sunday; as of Sunday evening,  Bedford police said some new information might be available Monday afternoon.

Authorities have not made any linkages between the fire and the weekend burglary, which occurred at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday night. Police received a panic alarm call followed by a telephone call from the residence. Multiple agencies responded and assisted with the safe removal of all residents from the scene, according to authorities.

Homeowners declined to comment at the scene of the fire.
