Bedford Hills Man Charged with DWI on Harris Road

A Bedford Hills man faces DWI charges after his erratic driving led to a traffic stop and arrest early Saturday morning, Bedford police said.

Officers on patrol observed Duffy McCarthy, 43, crossing the double yellow line when he turned onto left onto Harris Road from Bedford Road. They pulled him over at about 2:30 a.m.

When they approached the car, they noticed a smell of alcohol coming from the car. Police also said McCarthy also had reddish eyes and failed field sobriety tests. He was brought to police headquarters for processing where he took a chemical test which revealed a .13 BAC.

McCarthy was charged with DWI, DWI over .08 BAC, misdemeanors, and improper lane use, a traffic violation. He was released on $150 bail pending a return to town court.
