Broken Steering Causes Dump Truck Rollover in Bedford: Police

A broken steering system was the cause of a dump truck roll over on Interstate 684 on Monday morning, according to New York State Police.

The roll over occurred at around 10 a.m. in the highway's northbound section near Exit 4 in Bedford, police confirmed. The driver sustained minor injuries, police said, including arm lacerations and possibly a broken finger.

All three lanes of the interstate's stretch were closed at one point to get room for towing, although for most of the time just the center and left lanes were closed, police said. The truck was removed after 2:30 p.m.

Editor's Note: The location of the rollover was in Bedford, according to police, not in Katonah as originally reported and attributed. The story has been revised.
