Bronx Man Accused of Mount Kisco Bank Robbery, Cocaine Possession

A 38-year-old Bronx man was arrested for allegedly robbing a TD Bank in Mount Kisco and possessing cocaine, according to an announcement from Mount Kisco police.

Eddy Cruz is accused of robbing the bank on Dec. 31, around 5 p.m., and demanding money by handing a note to a bank teller. Cruz is then alleged to have fled with more than $6,000.

Mount Kisco police stated that a broadcast was put out with a description of a fleeing vehicle. A traffic stop was then done later that evening in Elmsford by police there, with Cruz found to be its occupant, police added.

Recovered as a result, according to police, was more than $6,000 in cash, along with clothing that was similar to what was worn by the perpetrator. Police also claim that about 10 grams of cocaine was found.

Cruz was arrested and charged with multiple felonies: third-degree robbery, third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned on Jan. 1 by Village Justice Mark Farrell.

A bail amount was given, which is $400,000 in cash or an $800,000 bond amount, police announced, adding that he did not post and was brought to Westchester County Jail. Cruz has a Mount Kisco court date scheduled for Jan. 2 at 7 p.m.

Whether Cruz was involved in more robberies is being investigated, according to police, with information being given to police departments both in New York and outside.
