Connecticut Woman Faces DWI After Traffic Stop in Katonah

The Bedford Police Department provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 23-year-old Danbury, CT woman is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated after getting behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit, officials say.

Bedford Police arrested Laurissa LaCava, 23, at about 5 a.m. Dec. 22. They stopped her on Woodsbridge Road in Katonah, after officers noticed a loud muffler and observed the vehicle drifting in and out of the lane, according to authorities.

During the traffic stop, police noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage and found LaCava's eyes to be bloodshot, officials told Patch. She reportedly failed field sobriety tests, and a chemical test at the station revealed a 0.16 percent blood-alcohol level. The legal limit is 0.08.
