Driver Arrested After Medical Emergency

Plus, over $1,600 in personal belongings were stolen from a car parked on Leslie Lane.

A White Plains woman was arrested in Bedford after she rear-ended another car while apparently having a medical emergency related to her diabetes.

Police said Tara Kavanagh, 40, struck another car while approaching a stop sign on South Bedford Road at West Patent Road. The driver of the car that was hit told police Kavanagh appeared to be driving erratically.

Kavanagh was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital where she received treatment related to her diabetes. A computer check revealed Kavanagh was driving with a suspended license.

She was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a car and is due back in Bedford town court.

Police said a resident of Leslie Lane reported that between the hours of 7:44 p.m. on Oct. 9th and 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 10th several items were stolen from his Jeep parked in his driveway, including an iPad, climbing equipment and other personal belongings. The car was unlocked.
