Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Sleepy Hollow

A New Broadway woman "will likely not survive" from injuries sustained from a domestic incident early Saturday morning, reports Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Gregory Camp.

This updated release was issued early Sunday morning from Chief Gregory Camp on the domestic incident that occurred on New Broadway:

Officers recieved a call regarding a domestic incident and responded to 127 New Broadway in the Village of Sleepy Hollow. Upon arival they found an unresponsive 47-year-old female in cardiac arrest and started CPR. The Sleepy Hollow Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Phelps Memorial Hospital. She is in Critical Care and will likely not survive.

The 49-year-old male suspect is identified as Christopher Howson. Howson is being charged with attempted murder 2nd degree and strangulation 1st degree. The suspect was arraigned by Judge Farella and he was remanded to the Westchester County Jail and he is due back in Sleepy Hollow Village Court on Monday January 7, 2013 at 3 pm.

The Westchester County Department of Public Safety was contacted to assist the Sleepy Hollow Police Department and responded with detectives and the crime scene unit. The Westchester County District Attorney's office also assisted.
