Police interviwed the driver, Isabel Christopher, 37, whom they said had red, watery eyes and breath that smelled of alcohol. Christopher said she was on her way home from New York City. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to police headquarters where she submitted to a chemical test that revealed .16 BAC, twice the legal limit.

She was charged with DWI, DWI over .08 BAC and making an unsafe lane change. Roberts was released without bail pending a return to town court.
