Police: Somers Man Threatens Wife, Stops Her from Leaving House

A 46-year-old Somers man is facing criminal charges after he threatened his wife during a domestic dispute and prevented her from leaving the house, state troopers said.

Police charged the man with second-degree menacing and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, both misdemeanors.

He was arrested on Oct. 20 as a result of a domestic incident that occurred earlier that day at his home. The man and his wife got into an argument. He then threatened to harm her and prevented her from leaving the residence, police said.

The man's wife eventually fled from the home and ran to a neighbor's home when she contacted police. Upon police arrival, the man had left the area.

He later voluntarily surrendered to the State Police in Somers and was arraigned before the Somers Town Court. He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail and scheduled to appear in the Somers Town Court on Oct. 21.
