A South Salem man was arrested after reportedly driving erratically on Route 35, said Bedford police.
Officers on patrol said they observed Christopher James Haarsgaard, 43, crossing the center yellow lines on Route 35 eastbound on Oct. 17. After pulling him over at about 5 a.m. police interviewed Haarsgaard, who said he was on his way home from his job in New York City.
He failed field sobriety tests and submitted to a chemical test at police headquarters, which revealed he had a .16 BAC, or twice the legal limit. Haarsgaard was released on $100 bail pending a return to town court.
