Elections Hub: Scott Concedes to Burdick; Republicans Lead in Other Races

Meredith Black announced that she has conceded. 

"I officially concede the race to Mary Beth Kass and Francis Corcoran.  I wish them the best of luck."

Black added, "It was a good race, and I appreciate and respect all the voters who came out to support us."

Republican Supervisor candidate Don Scott told Patch that he conceded to Chris Burdick, his Democratic counterpart who is leading the race.

He said that he called him to congratulate. Scott, whose local resume includes having served on the Katonah-Lewisboro school board, Katonah's board of fire commissioners and as a town wetlands commissioner, also hopes to remain involved locally.

Heanwhile, he replied that he was happy with the performance of the rest of the Republican ticket, as well as County Executive Rob Astorino.

County board of elections unofficial results show that 16 of 18 districts are in for Bedford, and with Burdick, a current councilman, leading 2,113 to 1,713, or 55 percent to 45 percent.

Republican council candidates Mary Beth Kass and Francis Corcoran maintain their leads for the two available seats, with respective vote counts of 2,037 and 1,980. Democratic candidates Meredith Black and Julie Halloweel Vulpescu have 1,712 and 1,672, respectively.

Republican and incumbent Boo Fumagalli continues to lead Democratic challenger Simone Shapiro for the town clerk's race by 2,172 to 1,542. For town clerk, incumbent and Republican Erik Jacobsen leads Democratic challenger Judy Aydelott by 2,111 to 1,458.

Democrat Chris Burdick is leading in the race for Bedford supervisor, with unofficial data from the Westchester County Board of Elections showing him ahead of Republican Don Scott.

When all party ballot lines are factored in, and with 12 of 18 election districts in, Burdick leads by 1,631 to 1,274, or 56 percent to 44 percent.

The Republican council candidates, incumbent Francis Corcoran and newcomer Mary Beth Kass, lead with 1,543 and 1,556 votes, respectively and with all ballot lines counted. Democrats Meredth Black and Julie Hallowell Vulpescu each have 1,365 votes in the same case.

Town Clerk and Republican candidate Boo Fumagalli is leading in her re-election bid over Democratic challenger Simone Shapiro by 1,647 to 1,231. For town justice, incumbent and Republican Erik Jacobsen leads Democratic challenger Judy Aydelott by 1,628 to 1,102. Both races' totals include all party ballot lines.

Meanwhile, Democratic incumbent Peter Harckham leads Republican challenger Andrea Rendo in the race for county legislative district 2 by 3,535 to 2,941. In that race, 27 of 52 districts are in.
