Sycamore Planting Celebration

Supervisor Lee Roberts, members of the Town Board and the Tree Advisory Board invite you to celebrate the planting of two “baby” sycamores.  These two very special sycamores were propagated from the sycamore which many will remember was in front of the Bedford Village Library.

History is being preserved with modern technology for future generations to enjoy.  Cuttings at the time the tree was removed were taken and then propagated. The effort was facilitated by Bedford resident, Sharon Kennedy-Nolle. The seedlings were grown for two years under the care of Wayne Cahilly of Cahilly’s Horticultural Services, LLC.   Mr. Cahilly is also the Manager for the Lionel Goldfrank III Institutional Mapping Department – Site Historian, The New York Botanical Garden.  He has also served as Lead Arborist.  The seedlings were then turned over to Bedford to preserve our history and return the trees home.
