MKMG Proposes Urgent Care Center in Bedford Hills

Mount Kisco Medical Group is seeking to bring an urgent care center to a site in Bedford Hills, according to documents filed with the Bedford Planning Board.

The center would be located at 800 Bedford Road and need about 18 parking spaces, MKMG notes. The maximum staffing for the facility would be 10, including physicians, nurses, mid-level providers, an x-ray technician and office staff.

MKMG, which operates urgent care centers elsewhere, describes them as an alternative to emergency rooms. The center would be able to handle some functions of traditional ER.

"These centers are considered a safe, quick, less expensive alternative to emergency departments."

The centers that MKMG operates are able to handle conditions such as non-life-threatening injuries, rashes, flu, colds, Lyme disease and asthma.

MKMG is seeking to get a waiver from the planning board from needing site plan approval, citing the fact that the center just involves an interior change.

The planning board meets tonight at 8 p.m. at the town hall annex building at 425 Cherry St. in Bedford Hills.
