Scott Gets League of Conservation Voters Support

The New York League of Conservation Voters announced that it is endorsing Don Scott for Bedford Supervisor.

“Bedford has a tremendous environmental ally in Don Scott,” the group's president, Marcia Bystryn, said in a statement. “Because of his impressive track record working on issues like open space preservation and drinking water protection, coupled with his robust vision for an even greener, cleaner future, we are proud to endorse Don Scott for Bedford Town Supervisor.”

Scott, who is running on the Republican ticket, was praised by NYLCV for his environmental experience, including being a former board member of its Westchester County chapter, being a founder of the Citizens for Clean Water and Open Space and serving on the town's Wetlands Commission. Scott, who is a former Katonah-Lewisboro school board president, also worked on getting an energy audit for the school district, the group noted.

NYLCV also states that Scott will continue to support goals backed by groups such as Bedford 2020 and Energize Bedford.

“I am honored to have the League's endorsement and will work hard to justify their faith in me,” Scott said in a statement release by NYLCV. “Our entire team is dedicated to making sure that Bedford continues to be a regional leader on a wide range of environmental issues.”
