Tuesday: Kerry Kennedy Returns to North Castle Court

Kerry Kennedy will make another appearance Tuesday evening at North Castle Justice Court in Armonk for the impaired driving charge against her.

Kennedy's court date, which was confirmed by the clerk's office, comes after a series of motions between her and the Westchester County District Attorney's office were planned for the case. She last appeared in court in May, when North Castle Town Justice Elyse Lazanksy denied her motion to dismiss the case.

Kennedy, a Bedford resident, is accused of getting into an accident in July 2012 on Interstate 684 in Armonk. The prosecution claims that she collided with a truck in the process. A drug test revealed that Kennedy ingested Zolpidem, the generic name for Ambien.

Kennedy's side has argued that she took the medication by mistake and that she meant to take a thyroid medication that she also had available.

The case may not remain in North Castle building much longer, according to a report from the Associated Press, which reports that both Kennedy's counsel and the prosecution are considering having a trial for it held elsewhere.
