FLORAL ARRANGING HOW-TO AT THE POUND RIDGE GARDEN CLUB

Snow’s on the ground, but nothing says spring is coming better than an attractive arrangement of fresh flowers. Having fun with flower arranging is the timely first program of the season at the Pound Ridge Garden Club on Tuesday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. The event at the Pound Ridge Library, 271 Westchester Avenue near the intersections of Route 137 and 124, is free and open to the public.

Anyone can learn how to perfect and enjoy the art of flower arranging and the accomplished speaker, Melinda Wolcott, will show you how. Wolcott, an accredited flower show judge for the past 10 years, former president of the Wilton Garden Club and frequent lecturer, will show and tell how to create all of the designs she discusses. The finished items then will be auctioned off at the end of the program.

This is the first in a series of floral design programs leading up to the club’s circus-themed Flower Show, “Under the Big Top,” scheduled for August 8-9 at Conant Hall.
