POUND RIDGE GARDEN CLUB HANDMADE SWAGS AND WREATHS ARE SEEN ABOUT TOWN

The festive swags on signposts throughout Pound Ridge and the wreaths at the Town House are courtesy of the Pound Ridge Garden Club which devoted its final meeting of the year to making the holiday decorations. After a morning of twisting wire around evergreen boughs, cones and red berries, club members sat down to a luncheon at Conant Hall to celebrate their 2013 achievements. An array of awards was bestowed on selected members for outstanding horticulture and design. All told, some 75 swags and 25 wreaths were completed.  The decoration project undertaken by the garden club is a tradition that goes back to 1975. The swags on signposts on all the major roads in town and the wreaths donated to the Town House, police station, library and Conant Hall will brighten the landscape through January.
