Katonah Realtor to be on 'House Hunters'

A Katonah real estate agent who is from Mount Kisco will be on tonight's episode of the HGTV show "House Hunters."

The episode will feature William Raveis agent Justin Pieragostini helping Steven and Megan Grskovic in their move from the Boston area to northern Westchester County. The group was picked to be on "House Hunts" after applying, William Raveis noted in an announcement.

Pieragostini likes the fact that Westchester is represented on the show.

“This was the first time HGTV has showcased the Westchester-area on House Hunters, it was truly an honor to be a part of the process,” he said in a statement. “Westchester is a part of the country unlike anywhere else. We’re a hub for individuals who commute back and forth to New York City, but we still retain a lot of the small-town charm that homebuyers are searching for.”

“Honestly, we were so caught up in the emotions of the house hunting experience, we never really thought about our ‘story’ until Justin threw out the idea of sharing it on House Hunters,” Steven Grskovic said in a statement. “Ultimately, we were intrigued by having a unique keepsake for our family to look back on. Justin kept reminding us through the home buying process that once complete we’ll be happy we documented it and he was right. We’re really looking forward to the episode."

During the filming, visits were made in Katonah, Bedford and Mount Kisco, including to the downtown Katonah, the Bedford Oak, the Bedford Post Inn and several horse farm sites. Meetings for the show were held in at Village Social and at Spins Bowl at Grand Prix New York, Pieragostini said.

The show was filmed last November, Pieragostini said, when he was working for White Plains agency Paddington Stone Realty. He has been with William Raveis since March. His local ties including having been raised in Mount Kisco - his uncle, Charles Pieragostini, is the village's superintendent of recreation and his father is an attorney - and having served as a Mount Kisco volunteer firefighter. Pieragostini also said that he teaches his son's baseball team.

The episode airs tonight at 10 p.m. on HGTV.
