The single “A” Rockies began their season on Saturday May 7th vs. the Tigers.   Both coach DeLucia (Rockies) and Coach MacDonald (Tigers) were impressed with their teams opening day outings.   The Rockies had some hot bat’s including impressive 4 for 4 outings from Jackson Andrew, Justin DeLucia, Andrew Hammer, Jake Kauftheil, and Aidan Kelly.  The Tigers kept the Rockies fielders busy with a 4 for 4 outing from Aiden Sussman and even having his arm in a cast did not stop the Tigers Scott MacDonald who was able to run the bases and not let his spring injury set him back!

On Saturday May 14th, their second game of the season, the single “A” Rockies took the field against the Rays.   The Rockies played some tough defense including an awesome fly ball caught by Anthony Protomastro and a 1 to 2 putout at home plate orchestrated by Jake Kauftheil and Andrew Hammer.  Despite their valiant defensive efforts the Rockies had a tough time containing the hot bats of the Rays Nicholas Savastano & Tyler A. Wishart who both went 6 for 6!  Both coach DeLucia(Rockies), and coach Degrasse(Rays) said there were tremendous contributions from all their players at bat and in the field!
