Katonah Village Library Hosts College Prep Programs

A series of workshops including a free practice SAT/ACT test is starting Sat. Sept. 29.

Junior and senior year for many local high school students can be fraught with anxiety about tests, college applications and decision making.

The Katonah Village Library aims to help ease that stress by offering a few workshops to help:

Take a Free Practice SAT/ACT Combo Test Provided by KAPLAN. 

Saturday, September 29th, 10:30-2:30 pm at the Katonah Village Library.  This test is best suited for students from grades 9-12. While many students try their hand at both the SAT and the ACT, most still only take one of the two tests. But how do you decide which to take? Try this combo test.  Test results will be provided by Kaplan. Come to the October 10th Review Session at 7 pm to learn review the test & strategies. Take a Free Practice SAT Test

Saturday, October 6th, 10:30-2:30 pm at Katonah Village Library.  This test is best suited for students from grades 9-12.   A practice test is one of the best ways to prepare for the real thing. Know exactly what to expect on test day, get a complete analysis of your results, and learn exclusive strategies to improve your score.  Test results will be provided by Kaplan. Write a Winning Personal College Essay - Strategies for Success
with Dr. Gay S. Pepper on Tuesday, Oct. 9th, 7 pm, at Katonah Village Library.  Students attending this “hands on”talk will learn about the three key steps in the essay writing process.  Students will also read and analyze actual college essays to determine what made them successful at leading colleges.This program is free and open to the public.
