Occupy St. Theresa Puts Spotlight on Catholic School Closings [PHOTOS]

Students, alumni and parishioners "take over" Briarcliff school deemed at risk of closing.

A spirited group of alumni at the St. Theresa School in Briarcliff Manor organized a weekend-long "Occupy St. Theresa School" event which got underway Friday evening.

Joining the alumni were current students, their siblings, parents and parishioners who partook in the event to help to keep the school from closing. The Archdiocese of New York deemed the school one of seven "at risk" at the end of the school year in Westchester and Rockland counties.

People slept on mattresses or in tents set up on the stage and children played a variety of sporting activities and games in between meals cooked in the school cafeteria by parents and alumni.

Another gimmick. Won't do a thing.
Here's a better solution: take back your public schools. You pay for them. Make 'em what you want them to be.

Better idea. Home school. Jesus never tried to take back the government of Pilate and never encouraged others to do so. He's got a better way.

It wool be interesting to see how the church handles this occupation.
