Bedford's Panoff Tosses No-Hitter for Harvey in Softball

A sophomore hurler on The Harvey School's varsity softball team allowed no hits and no runs in an impressive performance Saturday in Katonah.

Samantha Panoff of Bedford pitched a no-hitter Saturday at home for The Harvey School against the New York Military Academy (NYMA), leading the Cavaliers to an 11-0 victory. Panoff, a sophomore, struck out 14 NYMA Knights in five innings.

Harvey coach Amie Phillips was impressed with her pitcher’s performance. “Samantha had a great game. She was steady under pressure and kept her cool.”

Harvey jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and Panoff, who walked eight, silenced the Knights’ bats, stifling any chance NYMA could get back in the game. Harvey’s defense played well in an errorless game for both sides.
