Harvey Celebrates Commencement
Seventy-five seniors will say goodbye to Harvey today at the school's commencement ceremony.
Whitney Johnson, the founder and executive director of the not-for-profit Ubuntu Africa (UBA), will deliver the keynote address at The Harvey School commencement today at 10 a.m. The 29-year-old Bedford native founded UBA to improve the health and well-being of children living with HIV in underserved communities.
The 75 members of the graduating class, the largest graduating class in Harvey's nearly 100-year history, will also hear an address from valedictorian Lillian Brouwer, the school's top scholar.
The ceremony will include the awarding of prizes by Upper School Head Philip Lazzaro and Dean of Students Elisabeth Visintainer. Headmaster Barry Fenstermacher and Harvey School Board of Trustees Chair Eileen Walker will share the duties of presenting diplomas to the graduates.
The ceremony will take place in the gym of the school's new athletic center.
