Donate Dresses to Prom Clothes Closet

And if you're a teen in need, contact the Community Center of Northern Westchester for details on a private shopping event where you can outfit yourself for the prom.

It's spring and that means prom season is approaching. While some local teens will head to the malls or local boutiques to buy a new dress or rent an expensive tuxedo, some of their classmates may not be able to afford new formalwear.

The is continuing the effort it began three years ago: to collect gently used prom dresses, shoes, accessories, and men’s formalwear for high school students who would like to attend a prom and cannot afford to purchase or rent these items.

In addition to the gathering up of pretty clothes, the center also provides an opportunity for local teens to choose their own formalwear from the donations.

For one night, girls can shop the center's "closet" at a special private event, graciously hosted by the Mt. Kisco boutique, . Any high school student or their caregiver may contact Noya Guerrero at the center, at 914-232-6572. The center makes every effort to maintain student privacy.
