Care Enough to Vote

Tomorrow residents who live in the Bedford Central School District have the opportunity to vote on the proposed Capital Plan Bond. The bond would address long standing maintenance concerns at the West Patent Elementary School. update the science labs and classrooms at the Middle School and provided needed funds to address several other capital issues. Having served on the Bedford Central Board of Education I understand the complexity of school budgets, tax rates, unfunded mandates and antiquated laws governing schools and school districts. I also understand the relationship between quality staff, quality facilities and a quality education. For those who know me, it comes as no surprise that I will vote yes for this bond.

But, whether you agree with me or disagree with me, I would urge you to vote. It takes less than 15 minutes. You cannot be THAT busy.  If you have children, take your children with you so they can see you vote and learn something about the voting process.
