Annual Autism 5K; Teatown Events

Here's what is happening this weekend around the area:

1. The fifth-annual All Out for Autism 5k run and walk is taking place this evening near by in New Canaan, CT. People can register up until today. A kids' version will start Friday evening at 6:15 p.m. while the adult event will start Friday at 6:30 p.m. The location is by a New Balance shoe store at 128 Main St. in downtown New Canaan. Proceeds will go to the New Canaan YMCA.

2. Teatown Lake Reservation is holding Slithery Serpents, a look at snakes, who are described by Teatown as "the misunderstood animals of the natural world." Folks can meet snakes at Teatown and learn about their reputation. The event starts on Saturday at 11 a.m.

3. Another Teatown event is for learning about moths at its Cliffdale site in Croton-on-Hudson, which will be Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.

4. Stamp and coin collectors have a chance to get items at an estate sale in Waccabuc on Saturday. The sale will start at 9 a.m.

5. Dance 4 a Cause, an event to support research of Adrenal cancer, is being held Friday night at 7 p.m. at Yorktown Stage in Yorktown Heights.
