Bedford Hills Elementary School, one of five elementary schools in the Bedford Central school district, caters to kindergarten through grade five. Per the 2009-10 school district profile, it has an enrollment of 309.

BHES has a number of programs geared toward building character in its students from a very early age. These include: Words of Wisdom, which introduces children to the idea of being more responsible, respectful and caring; Second Step involves lessons on empathy and anger management; and the summer reading drive encourages kids to read throughout the holidays.
